Hello! My name is Nolan Jessen. I’m a junior undergraduate at UC San Diego
majoring in Business Economics. I’m also a Fulfillment Operations Team Leader at Target.
I grew up in Campbell, California, a community I have always stayed actively involved in, particularly
through my long-standing volunteer work with the Friends of the Campbell Library. As their Social Media Manager,
I launched and continue to grow their digital presence by executing social media campaigns for book sales and
special events.
My professional journey started at California’s Great America, where I operated and ensured the safety of 10
rides over 2 seasons. I operated control panels, delivered the ride spiel, and enforced safety protocols while
delivering a great guest experience. I was also selected for the iROC training program and completed the class
and examination to become a certified trainer.
I later moved to San Diego to pursue my education, where I earned my associate’s degree in Economics from San
Diego Mesa College, graduating as a valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA. During this time, I worked full-time as a
Fulfillment Pacesetter at Target. I assisted with the day-to-day operations, tracked and set performance
metrics, and led my peers to meet order deadlines.
I started work on my B.S. in Business Economics from UC San Diego last July. Additionally, I began an Internship
in Computing Services at UCSD's Extended Studies Department.
Recently, I was promoted from a Pacesetter to a Team Leader at Target. In this role, I directly manage the
Fulfillment team, provide feedback, and oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity. I focus
on coaching team members, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
With a natural ability for analytical thinking and organization, I’m driven to make a tangible impact on the
businesses and communities I care about. Whether supporting my local library, operating the rides I rode as a
kid, or leading operations at the store I frequent. I strive to bring value and excellence to everything I do.
